No. 1 Outstanding Scholarships for Global Students: Maastricht University Netherlands
Every academic year, 24 highly brilliant non-EU students who have been admitted into UM’s Master’s program are given full scholarships totaling €30,000, which includes tuition fees and a monthly stipend, as part of the Maastricht University (UM) NL-High Performance Scholarship project.
The High Potential scholarship covers the whole length of the Master’s program; it is awarded for a total of 25 months for an apprenticeship and thirteen months of tuition for a one-year program.

Qualifications for Scholarships

- You are a citizen of a country not in the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam, and you meet the requirements to be authorized to enter and remain in the Netherlands.
- You are not a dual citizen of any EU or EEA country.
- You have applied to the full-time Master’s program at Maastricht University for the 2024–2025 academic year.
- You are accepted to the UM Master’s program as long as you meet the special admission standards for the program.
- You have never participated in an education program leading to a degree in primary, secondary, or higher learning in the Netherlands. Students who have completed exchange programs in the Netherlands may be eligible to apply.
- You will be under 35 years old on September 1, 2024.
- Your excellent performance in past study programs is attested to by your most recent grade record or academic excellence certification. Even if several applicants are equally eligible, we will give precedence to those whose scholastic transcript or certified letter of academic excellence indicates that they are in the top 5% of the 2023–2024 fellowship applicants.
- You must first enroll in a participating Maastricht University Master’s Program (MA) in order to apply for the scholarship. You will obtain an academic ID number after submitting your application through the Study link, which you will need to fill out and submit your scholarship request form.
